Suicide Awareness Month

Did you know that:
  • Suicide is the SECOND leading cause of death for ages 10-24. (CDC WISQARS)
  • Suicide is the SECOND leading cause of death for college-age youth and ages 12-18. (CDC WISQARS)
  • More teenagers and young adults die from suicide than from cancer, heart disease, AIDS, birth defects, stroke, pneumonia, influenza, and chronic lung disease, COMBINED.
Nevada County Public Health will offer virtual training on suicide warning signs of suicide, how to engage with a young person you're concerned about and what resources are available in the community to help. The training will be through Zoom so you can access the training through your phone or computer.  The training is WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2022, 7:00 - 8:00 PM.  Attached is a flier with more information and how to log on to Zoom.
