History

Located in the beautiful Sierra Foothills of Nevada County, Pleasant Ridge School District serves the communities of Auburn, Lake of the Pines, Grass Valley, and Alta Sierra. We provide an outstanding educational experience to our students at two K-5 elementary schools and one intermediate school for 6th-8th grades, while also working in conjunction with our K-12 charter academy. We strive to provide a safe and engaging learning environment where students have access to strong systems of supports for building academic capabilities and valuable life skills to become productive citizens in a constantly changing global society.

Pleasant Ridge School District’s annual general fund budget is approximately $22 million. Our comprehensive special education programs are an essential part of each school and programs are available from a county consortium for students with a range of disabilities. The District contracts for transportation services and is a member of a countywide JPA for food services, Community Roots. Our exceptional teachers and instructional support staff includes 91 certificated and 82 classified employees. The District maintains a positive and cooperative relationship with all employee organizations.

Our District is incredibly proud of our students, faculty, and programs which have been recognized throughout the state, nation, and internationally.
